The Alpujarras in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range are well worth a day out – the mountain scenery and vegetation being very different to the coast. From autumn to early summer you can be above the snowline in under 2 hours.
From December to April there is great skiing, snowboarding, sledging in the Sierra Nevada for all levels of experience plus an excellent children's activity area.
