CONVENIENCE AND AMBIENCE OF CENTRO HISTORICO
Comfortable and bright, enjoy the convenience and ambience of Puerto's Centro Historico living in our 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, single-level apartment. Located midway between the Catedral and Plaza de Toros in a 12 unit complex, our top floor apartment is off the street and overlooks the homeowners' garden courtyard. Our apartment was renovated in 2008 and features modern, well-functioning bathrooms and kitchen. There are windows in every room and with fresh paint and new flooring it is sunny and inviting.
The living/dining room area has a nice, open feeling with a large sliding glass door opening onto the covered terrace. The terrace overlooks the garden courtyard and is a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee listening to the birds or an afternoon cocktail. The living area has A/C with heat and a ceiling fan.
The 3 bedrooms sleep 6 total and all have closets and ample storage. The master bedroom has a bath ensuite with it's own water heater, queen bed, A/C with heat, ceiling fan and a small balcony. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has 2 twins.
The 2 1/2 bathrooms have new plumbing, fixtures, and finishes and with a window in each are bright and well ventilated. The 2 full bathrooms both have a tub/shower and bidet in addition to the sink and toilet.
Cooking is a real pleasure in the large and sunny, well-equipped kitchen. There are all the modern applicances and with service for 12 you always have a clean plate. The cozy eating area is perfect for breakfast or sipping a fino while keeping the cook company. Conveniently located off of the kitchen is a separate laundry/office room and a 1/2 bath.
Being in Cento Historico means easy access to all the local bodegas, restaurants, museums, historic sites and entertainment venues. These are just a few minutes walk from our apartment. The riverfront is a 10 minute walk away and leads to the local La Puntilla Beach. From here,the waterfront path carries on to Puerto Sherry - either by foot or on a bicycle.
Being in Puerto means that with ferry, bus and train transportation all available and within walking distance from our apartment, you don't need a car. By ferry, a 10 minute walk from the apt., it's a 30 min. catamaran ride to Cadiz. By train, about a 20 min. walk, you can reach Jerez in 10 minutes, Sevilla in 1 1/2 hours and Madrid in 4 hours. If you choose to rent a car, the Pueblos Blancos and other beach and mountain towns are easily accessible for day trips.
El Puerto de Santa Maria is a wonderful base from which to explore southern Andalucia and our self-catering apartment, available from May through September, is a great place to call home during your visit.
