Description of our villa
Villa Rocas is in a particularly peaceful setting with sea views from all five bedrooms and the living area. This is a spacious villa with private pool, aircon and WIFI. In a superb location, 5mins by car or 20mins walk takes you to the historic castle town of BEGUR where you will find a fantastic choice of restaurants, tapas bars, cafes and a few late night cellar bars making Begur attractive for all ages. A relaxing time can be spent exploring the cobbled streets which are littered with beautiful shops, cafes and restaurants and the weekly market is always fun with clothes, food and general items for sale. If you walk up to the castle at the head of the town you can enjoy amazing views and there are many interesting walks from Begur details of which can be found at the local tourist office. No traffic passes through the centre of the village which makes the old square an enchanting place to sit and watch the world go by whilst sitting at one of the outside cafes or bars. In the high season there is much activity in both the squares in Begur with local artists` work on display, activities for children and live music with dancing, both traditional and modern.
Just 2km away is the charming old fishing village of Sa Riera with its golden sand beach and waterfront restaurants. There are many coastal resorts nearby including Tamariu, Aiguablava, Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc, each with sandy coves and waterfront activities. Also of great interest is the medieval walled town of Pals(15mins) and Peratallada(20mins). Since this region was the home to Salvador Dali, you can visit his castle at Pubol (20mins), his museum at Figueres (45mins) and his summer house (absolutely fascinating) at Port Lligat((1hr). These are approximate drive times.
The villa is extremely well maintained, comfortably furnished and equipped to a very good standard. The lawned garden is enclosed and on one level offering a good deal of privacy. There is easy access to the private swimming pool from the living room and the kitchen. A covered dining terrace extends from the far end of the living room creating a private and atmospheric al fresco dining area with the BBQ nearby. There is also a decked sun terrace to one side of the pool and clothes drying facilities.
Parking for 2 cars on the private driveway and additional parking on the quiet cul de sac road outside the villa.
An entrance porch leads to a hall with a door to a large double bedroom with sea views. Here there is room for an additional folding bed (by request). An ensuite shower room leads off this bedroom.
A door to an inner hallway with a laundry provides washing machine, tumble dryer and sink.
Stairs lead to the first floor with a spacious open living area with comfortable sofas, chairs, dining table and a wood-burning stove in addition to central heating. There is sat TV and a DVD player. WIFI internet is available throughout the house. Wonderful sea and valley views from this room.
Also on this level is a twin bedroom and an adjacent bathroom. A door leads to the kitchen which also has a glass door to the garden and bbq area. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven/hob and microwave and is very well equipped for a large group.
Stairs to the upper level lead to a landing with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom with ensuite bathroom has full length windows and French doors to a terrace with table and chairs where you can enjoy magnificent sea views in this peaceful setting.
Two further twin bedrooms with sea views share a bathroom on this level.
Within 5-15 mins are the enchanting coastal villages of Sa Riera, Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugel, Tamariu, Sa Tuna and Aiguablava.
VILLA ROCAS is spacious and comfortable with a level garden and is suitable for two families. The bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and built in shelving and the beds are 160cm and 90cm wide. The accommodation is well spaced over three floors making it an ideal choice for two families. An additional folding bed can be provided by request which is narrower than a normal single bed and therefore more suitable for a child or young teenager.
The pool is easily viewed from the living area and the garden is enclosed and level.
This is an area with a reputation for some excellent golf courses within a few km of the villa.
Smaller and larger groups
Villa Rocas can be rented to smaller groups in low and mid season. Please request availability and rates. If you are a larger group then we have Casa Alfora next door to Villa Rocas which sleeps 10 people. See ref 262 on this website.
