Casa Romero
A delightful and beautifully presented detached villa set within its own gardens of lawn and terrace with a private pool and sea view. Casa Romero is in a very peaceful situation, being the last house in a cul de sac with open countryside to the side of the villa with a path following a shortcut to Begur taking 15-20 mins walk or just 5 minutes by car. In the historic castle town of BEGUR you will find a fantastic choice of restaurants, tapas bars, cafes and a few late night cellar bars making Begur attractive for all ages. A relaxing time can be spent exploring the cobbled streets which are littered with beautiful shops, cafes and restaurants and the weekly market is always fun with clothes, food and general items for sale. If you walk up to the castle at the head of the town you can enjoy amazing views and there are many interesting walks from Begur details of which can be found at the local tourist office. No traffic passes through the centre of the village which makes the old square an enchanting place to sit and watch the world go by whilst sitting at one of the outside cafes or bars. In the high season there is much activity in both the squares in Begur with local artists` work on display, activities for children and live music with dancing, both traditional and modern.
Just 2km away is the charming old fishing village of Sa Riera with its golden sand beach and waterfront restaurants. There are many coastal resorts nearby including Tamariu, Aiguablava, Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc, each with sandy coves and waterfront activities. Also of great interest is the medieval walled town of Pals(15mins) and Peratallada(20mins). Since this region was the home to Salvador Dali, you can visit his castle at Pubol (20mins), his museum at Figueres (45mins) and his summer house (absolutely fascinating) at Port Lligat((1hr). These are approximate drive times.
Casa Romero is on one level making for easy living especially with young children to keep an eye on and the pool area is visible from the house, located on a slightly lower level of the garden.
On approach there is a detached garage next to the house and an off road parking space. The entrance is gated with a few steps leading up to the pretty garden and pool area. On entering the front door is a welcoming hall with door to the living area which is very comfortably furnished with two sofas and occasional furniture. Here there is a very effective woodburning stove for winter months, Sat TV and a DVD player. The dining area has table, six chairs and a sideboard and looks out to the beautifully kept garden and pool area. The kitchen is set back from the living room and is well equipped including a dishwasher, fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave and all the items you would expect to find in a kitchen. There is an additional fridge/freezer in the garage.
Full width glass doors lead from the far end of the living room to a covered terrace where you can sit and relax in complete privacy. The built in bbq is conveniently close by and a couple of steps take you to an adjacent raised terrace with table, chairs and parasol; great for al fresco dining with stunning views of Begur and the castle which is lit up at night providing a romantic backdrop. For an early evening drink you can take the steps up to the rear garden area which has a small terrace with seating and sea views. To the side of the house is the pool, terrace and lawn area; a delightful chill out zone with sunbeds, where you can catch the sun all day with areas of natural shade. The pool is set at a slightly lower level and is easily visible from the house. The gardens extend around the villa and are planted with exotic palms, shrubs and flowers making a very relaxing atmosphere. The garden is completely enclosed.
Off the hallway are two bedrooms and a bathroom.
Bedroom one is spacious and has a large double bed (170cm), fitted wardrobes, bedside tables and lamps. The window gives a view to the side garden and bbq area.
Bedroom two has two single beds each 90cm wide and is a spacious twin bedroom with fitted wardrobes and bedside tables and lamps. The window looks to the side with pleasant views of the garden.
The bathroom has recently been replaced and is fully tiled with bath, shower, basin and w.c. The washing machine is in the bathroom and there is a tumble dryer in the garage as well as an additional fridge/freezer.
