The apartment is on a secure complex with phone entry system. Lift access to all levels, including pool and shared small roof top solarium with excellent views of the surrounding area. Large communal pool with lifeguard in high season. Approximately 300 meter walk to supermarkets, bars, banks and restaurants. From Residencial Las Brisas it is approximately 950 meter downhill walk to the nearest beaches and also to the town centre where you will find the tourist office, medical centre, local bus station and the covered daily fruit, veg, meat and fish market.
Puerto de Mazarron is a traditional Spanish seaside holiday destination with a choice of busy beaches or deserted coves but away from the traditional package holiday locations, making it an excellent choice for families, couples or small group of people who want a beach or mountain location with plenty of sun and plenty to do both day and night.
For those looking for action Puerto de Mazarron has great diving, snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing and fishing with crystal clear waters. The beaches and small bays are gently sloping making it safe for children. The miles of countryside and mountains surrounding the bay of Mazarron make for excellent walking.
The Costa Calida has a gentle warm winter with long hot summer days making it one of Spain's best places to holiday. Some of the finest beaches in Spain are found here along with beautiful coastline and countryside that will appeal to those who seek a tranquil environment for their holidays.
Puerto de Mazarron is a popular resort for Spanish families so the peak season of July and August are very busy. At other times of the year it can be very quiet which makes Puerto ideal for that quiet or activity holiday as the area is ideal for walking holidays, with a variety of marked walks to suit all abilites.
There is an attractive marina in Puerto with a variety of restaurants, tapas bars, night clubs and evening entertainment bars. Cultural activities include an open air summer cinema, indoor and outdoor sports facilities including ten pin bowling, sports hall, kart track, and an uncovered Roman salt factory museum. In summer there are two open-air out of town summer clubs which start very late and continue until sunrise.
There are regular free beach concerts provided by the council and there are themed beaches with a variety of free sports and relaxation facilities including a designated nudist beach.These facilities cater for all different ages and all types of holiday from a relaxing break on the beach to a water or walking based holiday.
For those wishing to play golf this is ten minues away by car at Camposol, or 40 minutes to La Manga.
Cartagena is a historic city worth a visit to view the beautiful archetecture, there is a variety of museums, a pedestrianised upmarket shopping area, newely opened Roman ampitheatre and a large port with a seafront paseo.Cartegena is 30 minutes away by car.
Murcia is the capital of the region and is an ancient city. It has an historical centre with a cathedral, a casino and churches with lots of interesting architecture. there are also cafes, tapas bars and some fine dining restaurants.
Sierra Espuna National Park lies to the north of Mazarron, through Totana or Alhama and is highly recommended for the drives and spectacular scenery. you will find plenty of local Spanish bars and restaurants serving good quality , reasonably priced food, or if you prefer you can take your own food to cook on the outdoor barbecues in the designated picnic areas. The park has a visitor centre and signposted walks with amazing views.
