Sympathetically modernised, secluded villa with pool, terraces and WIFI. A peaceful "getaway from it all" retreat overlooking the Valley of the Cherries.

Casa Cristina is a sympathetically restored and extended traditional Andalucian country villa. We have carefully combined modern convenience with traditional Spanish architectural design which retains all the rustic charm and sense of its 400 year history. Located on a hillside overlooking the Arroya del Cerezo running through the valley, with superb views to the distant hills of Las Chozas and beyond. What could be better than to start your day with a breakfast of fresh figs from our trees, when in season, on the kitchen terrance, before whiling away the rest of the day in and around the pool, or curled up on the roof terrace under the shade of the bamboo and grape cover with one of our many books. And at the end of the day, alfresco eating by the pool watching the sunset. The house offers comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people. Please be aware that the above price is for a maximum of 4 people. For more than 4 people please see details below.

ACCOMMADATION DESCRIPTION:

Bedrooms:

1 double bedroom and 1 twin-bedded room on the ground floor.

1 double bedroom with king-sized bed and one twin-bedded room on the first floor.

The bedrooms are very spacious with bedside cabinets, wardrobes and drawer space. All overlook the pool terrace.

Bathrooms:

1 bathroom on the ground floor with bath/shower over, wash-hand basin and wc.

1 bathroom on the first floor, with large tiled shower, wash-hand basin and wc.

All towels are provided.

Kitchen:

The large rustic, beamed kitchen has granite worktops and terracotta floor tiles. A gas oven with 5-ringed hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toasters etc. etc; all you could possibly need.

Utility room:

Dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board and iron situated next to the kitchen.

Living Room:

Located on the first floor, has two comfortable sofas, tv with combined DVD player, video with a range of videos for all ages, various games and a good choice of holiday reading, including details of local attractions.

Dining Room:

On the ground floor, in the centre of the house, is the dining room where the age of the house is identified by the exposed Moorish pottery and stone wall, and impressive ancient ceiling beams.

Amenities and Facilities

Bed linen, bathroom and pool towels are provided and changed weekly. However, we would appreciate if you would bring your own towels for beach use. The house is cleaned throughout at every changeover.

Outside amenities include private pool, various sun and shaded terraces, sun-loungers, shaded dining area with fridge and gas BBQ.

Parking for 3 cars.

We provide a comprehensive welcome pack and a friendly welcome on your arrival, and as we live only 10 minutes away we are always available to give any help or advice you require.

Accessibility:

Because Casa Cristina is an old, renovated Spanish villa there are numerous steps on the ground floor and steep stairs to the first floor. Therefore the property is unsuitable for anyone who has mobility problems or is a wheelchair user.

Outside:

Private pool 8m x 4m x 1.4m deep all over. So, excellent for a swim or just to play about in. Plenty of pool-side terracing with loungers and seating.

Terraces:

A large covered area to the side of the house is just right for alfresco dining and to get out of the sun. A gas BBQ, drinks fridge and table tennis are also located here. The bamboo and vine covered roof terrace at the rear of the house has wonderful views down the valley and is an ideal spot for quiet reading. The kitchen terrace is quiet and secluded. All the terraces are lit, so what better way is there to end the day than to sip sangria and listen to the cicadas under a clear, starry sky on a warm and balmy Andalucian evening.

Out and about:

Iznajar ( short drive away), a typical rural Spanish village with white-washed houses and steep narrow streets perched on the edge of The Lake of Andaluz. With its ancient castle and churches this is a must to visit and wander around. There are supermarkets, a post office, numerous shops which sell almost anything, a health centre, banks and many tapas bars which come highly recommended. The lake has its own beach with bar/restaurant, BBQ facilities, pedalos and swimming.

Casa Cristina is ideally situated for easy access to the historic Alhambra Palace at Granada, the magnificent Mezquita at Cordoba, the sun-kissed beaches of the Costa del Sol and the colour and flamboyance of Sevilla.

The nearest villages of Fuente del Conde and Villaneuva de Tapia are both about 5 minutes drive. They have supermarkets, fresh bread and local bars and typically Spanish restuarants.

Other local activities include horse-riding, walking,and golf.

Travel: Both Granada and Malaga airports are about an hour away. Car hire is essential.

Whether to totally relax and unwind or to explore the historical treasures of Andalucia you will find Casa Cristina to be your perfect holiday choice.
