Having just spent 6 weeks in this apartment (and re-booked already for a further 2.5 months later in the year) I can say that it's a fantastic place to spend your holiday in Nerja. If you want incredible sea and mountain views, stunning sunsets, nature, peace and quiet to relax then this is the place for you as you can enjoy it all from the spacious balcony or in the hot tub (you will enjoy watching the sunset in the hot tub with a glass of vino or a beer) and this lovely little apartment at the foot of the hills in the beautiful San Juan De Capistrano. Looking for a lively holiday or nightlife? Then no worries as the beaches and old town are only a 35 minute downhill walk away (and what a stunning walk it is) or there's a daily bus running regularly throughout the day for just 1 Euro that runs to almost midnight (time tables are available in the apartment) So you can stay in a peaceful and quiet area and still go out and enjoy Nerja's incredible tapas and wine scene (most of the bars in the old town offer a free plate of tapas with any drink and at only 2 Euro for a glass of wine in many places it's a bargain) or enjoy walking around the old town, main square, and the Balcon De Europe which has some of the best views anywhere in Europe. And as for the apartment it's self... The apartment is exactly as advertised, spotlessly clean and tidy, has all mod cons and facilities you could ever need, the cupboards and drawers are incredibly well stocked with utensils and cutlery beyond what you'd expect in a holiday home, a great shower, comfortable bed, and I really appreciated the heavy blackout curtains to keep the light out of the bedroom in the morning as so many holiday homes only have flimsy net curtains resulting in you being woken up sunrise but these ones blocked out all light meaning you could sleep until you were ready to wake up. I've stayed in other apartments in this area before and I enjoyed this one far more and found it more modern, newer, better decorated, quieter and with better facilities. Worth noting... In the complex there's a supermarket, huge swimming pool with 2 poolside bars, and 2 other expat owned bars though most of these are only open during the summer months (the only thing open year round is one of the bars and even the supermarket is closed) so be aware of that if you're going in winter / off season and expecting them to be open. The rental team at SM Nerja are also fantastic and have great communication skills, willingness to solve any problems or help in any way they can, will always try and get you the best deal on price for a long term stay and if you're planning to take a taxi to / from the airport then have them arrange it for you as for the same price as you'll pay for a regular taxi you can have a driver waiting for you on arrival with the keys to the apartment (otherwise you have to pick them up at a nearby hotel which is on route to the apartment) and likewise on the return route the driver will pick you up at your door and take you to the airport and you can leave the keys with him which he'll return to the property managers saving you the hassle on check out day. I 100% recommend this apartment, San Juan De Capistrano and the rental agents SM Nerja without hesitation and can't wait until I return later in the year for an even longer trip. Enjoy your holiday!

We actually enjoyed our stay. Sadly, however, the apartment wasn't thoroughly cleaned (bedroom, bathroom). The views from the terrace were amazing and we really liked that there was a tourist bus which took us to the city centre in roughly 10 minutes.

Dear Fabian, I'm so sorry that the apartment wasn't thoroughly cleaned for you, If we'd known during your stay we would have sent a cleaner to redo the apartment for you. You have our sincere apologies.

We arrived fairly late and had to collect our keys from a local hotel which was easy to find and pretty painless. We then found the property quite easily and were able to let ourselves in. The property is quite high up on the hill in a very clean and quiet residential neighbourhood called San Juan De Capistrano - it's lovely. There is ample parking and there are 2 flights of steps leading up to the property. The apartment itself is very spacious for 2 people with a great size balcony. The Kitchen is also a great size and fairly well equipped - we were able to prepare a few meals here with no problem. There is a full size fridge freezer and there was a cool box we could use - this is great for loading up with cold drinks and taking down to the swimming pool to save some money. There is of course the fantastic hot tub on the balcony - we had some issues with the filter being blocked which mean't it could not filter the water or heat up which was slightly annoying. We were able to resolve this by ourselves by removing the filter and informing the management. Later during our stay the filter issue was resolved. The bathroom has a good sized, powerful shower and there is a washing machine which we used a few times - it works fine. There is good internet/WiFi and a TV with several channels in multiple languages. In English there was a surprisingly good selection, basically the same as UK Freeview plus a few Sky movie channels. The apartment is a little bit tired in places (e.g the sofa is on it's last legs and the appliances are very old) but overall everything was functional and we were happy with the accommodation. The pool is located in a communal area about a 2 minute walk away - it has a bar and restaurant area which is reasonably priced. Be warned however that the use of the sunbeds and umbrellas by the pool is not free. Sunbeds were 3 euro and umbrellas were 2 euro regardless of how long you want to use them. For us this mean't we were basically paying 8 euros every day we wanted to sit by the pool - the flip side to this is that you are virtually guaranteed to be able get a sunbed at any time which made a nice change. You can also reserve a sunbed for 50c the day before. Of course there is nothing to stop you sitting on the grass or taking some folding chairs down if you have them but let's face it, we want to sit on a sunlounger really. The pool is open until 9pm which is nice. Within walking distance you have: - The swimming pool (with bar & restaurant) - Rockys Bar & Restaurant - A small supermarket - A Spanish restaurant - The bus stop Needless to say a hire car is highly recommended although I did see some people walking down to the town occasionally so it's not impossible. The bus stop is just at the end of the street and is very cheap (1 euro per person flat fee) but unfortunately it is pretty much always late - anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes late. Annoyingly it can be on time occasionally so your only option really is to head down on time and just wait! It takes about 10-15 minutes to get into town. The last bus back from town is around midnight (subject to the usual flaky timetable). There are plenty of taxis in town to get you back - the fare is around 7 euro plus tip. We stayed for 2 weeks and we had a hire car so we were able to go on plenty of day trips to nearby places and attractions but without the car I think we would have been a bit bored. Some things we did that I thoroughly recommend: - The Nerja Caves (http://www.thenerjacaves.com) - Tapas Tour in Nerja (https://nerjatapastours.com) - Boat rental in Puerto Deportivo Marina Del Este (https://www.alborancharters.com)
